Mother Josephine Vannini Senior Citizens Retirement Home
Few years back we both prayed to God to show us a good Christian home, where we can spend the rest of our life in peace and comfort. Through our close friends, God answered our prayers and showed us this home. The very first day, we visited this home we fell in love with it.
The statue of Mother Mary at the entrance, the huge building with garden around and in the center of the home premises, the statue of Jesus Christ blessing attracted us.
The home is run by the Daughters of St. Camillus. They take care of all the residents with love and affection. All can worship any time in the chapel inside the home in the ground floor. The physiotherapy room and well furnished dining room are also in the ground floor.
There are single and double bedded rooms in all the three floors and lift and ramps. The rooms are furnished and provided with attached western toilet. Girl servants residing in the campus, clean the rooms and bath rooms every day. They also give hot water every morning at 5.00 am for taking bath. They bring drinking water and hot drinking water twice a day. There is provision for water in the bath rooms and sink for 24 hours. The clothes are taken for washing every day.
Good food is prepared in a very clean kitchen. Supervision is done by a sister.
We praise and thank God for enabling us to reside in the wonderful home.
With love, Joseph Rajanayagam and Primala Joseph
I am a member / senior citizen in this home, 4/924 Mother Josephine Vannini Senior Citizens Home, Vaidyalingamsalai, Neelankarai from 2011 Dec 7th . This six years in my life, I think is the happiest period. Before coming here, I was with my son for 10 years, life was very pleasant looking after my grand children one son and a girl as both my son and daughter-in-law were working parents. But when they reached the “ College going age” , I was feeling very lonely in the house.
One of my friends was in this home and we went to see her, I was taken a look seeing this home, it was so well maintained and it is very homely, cleanly maintained and the sisters were so cordial and friendly, on the spot I decided to come to this home, but to my disappointment they said there is no vacant room as the home was already full, and I had to register when I came home, I prayed to Almighty to put me in the home. Luckily I got a message to come and immediately book as a delay might give the room to another person who is the next. There was chapel inside the building and mass was daily celebrated there. The food is vegetarian and non-vegetarian, we can choose. They wash our clothes daily, fold and give to us. They clean the room and toilet daily. Food is supplied in the room or we can go to the dining hall to eat with other members.
About the sisters, there are about 10 or 12 nuns at a time they are so dedicated to their work so few looking after nearly 70 people (seventy) nearly more they 25 are handicapped. They look after them cheerfully and attend to all their needs and their rooms are kept spick & span.
One more thing, when we suffered by the floods in whole Madras, water came inside our home and all ground floor rooms were flooded, we were shifted to the first floor and second floor within one hour . Cot and necessities were taken up and the only dozen nuns were managing the whole affair. I don’t know how they managed, food came in time as the kitchen was flooded and the cooks were sent home as their homes were also flooded. Water had to be brought from downstairs and candles were provided for us hence there was no current.
I must whole heartedly thank Jesus for putting me in safe, peace and cheerful surrounding in my far end of my life.

My compliments go to the Daughters of St. Camillus in Mother Vannini Senior Citizens Retirement Home, who care for the sick and old residents in this home.
My name is Mrs. Zena Lopez and my husband is Melville Lopez. We have roam from Australia on the 9th of October 2008, after being informed by Mr.Lopez’s family in Chennai, that this home is the best home run by nuns who are also nurses.
My husband was suffering from Parkinsons, and after a prolonged illness passed away on 19th October 2010. I have continued to remain in this home and have completed 9 years on the 9th October 2017, and have made a choice to stay on with the privilege of being able to attend Holy Mass every day in the beautiful chapel which is so well arranged and I am also requested to do the 2nd reading of Sundays which gives me great joy.
I have a single room no. 108 on the ground floor with essential items. I am happy to be here with friends and neighbours who are like family. I am 81 years old, but try to keep busy doing some hand work and decorations.
The home has a good presentation with a garden and lots of fresh air. It is kept very clean on a daily basis, rooms and bathrooms and all. Even our laundry is done every day.
The sisters are carrying out their duties to the best of their ability and are cheerful, kind and helpful and understanding to us all.
This is my good report about Mother Josephine Vannini Senior Citizens Retirement Home.
May God Bless all who are living here.
What I think of the lovely home for senior citizens? A gift of God, for old people when they have no one and no where to go.

Mother Josephine Vannini Home has the right environment, open air places, garden for us to walk and relax.
The Mother Superior, well trained Sisters (trained Nurses), the attendants, young girls trained to be courteous, everything is done even natures fury, left the whole place. In a mess, everyone was on the toes round the clock, cleaning and serving all of us on time that’s to be really, really admired.
Even Mother, who was not keeping good health, standing in knee deep water saw that we were not neglected any way, and always with a smile. Four days a big problem, took more than a month, to bring things to normal.
Beautiful chapel inside the premises, for the convenience of the elders. Food is prepared to suit the elders, the sick, with different ailments.
Recreation rooms on the 1st and 2n d floor. Indoor games, library, television, physiotherapy room gym. The whole place is maintained clean.
First aid, care, after recovery perfect. Greenery that’s what I fell in love, what more can I ask, when you are in the last stage, a couple of nuns are there all the time holding our hands praying all the time. That’s what matters most peaceful on our final journey.
That’s why I prefer this home, than my own family people and home.
God bless this home always…..

I am very happy to have come over to Mother Josephine Vannini Senior Citizens Retirement Home. The services of the Sisters to the old and aged to make them happy by caring for them and looking after them at this age is something which everyone longs for in their old age.  When one becomes old, the children are not with them to take care of them.  The sisters and the staff under the guidance fill this gap.  May God bless them.

Vannini Senior home is an amazing group of sisters and staff. My elderly parents are taken care of with soooo much love and affection, when we, their children and grand-children are away abroad.  We  are very  grateful  for this  wonderful service  to my parents.  We thank the Lord  for this amazing grace.

I love stayed here some years ago. Each time I find it more amazing the love and affection shown by every person in this home.  From  the sisters who have such compassion & love for the people here, to the attendants & staff too.  Of course, Mother has the overall responsibility to run such a clean, compassionate home.  The care given to my mother in previous years, and the care given to my father now, is just astonishing.  The rooms are clean, the food is lovely, and the people here are so welcoming with love & affection for all.  My father say he is with angels here, and I can only stress that I completely agree with him.  I will never be able to thank each and everyone here, but I have to say thanks to them in my prayers each day.
